ASTM A36 and other alloys can be formed into various shapes for building S460ML steel beam construction. These include steel tubes; wide flanges, or W shapes; American Standard I-beams, or S shapes; structural tees, or T shapes; channels, or C shapes; angles, or L shapes; S460ML steel beam steel plates; and steel bars. Steel tubes are usually used as columns.
Oxygen (O) is a harmful element in steel such as S460ML steel beam. Although manganese, silicon, iron and aluminum are added to deoxidize the steel at the end of steelmaking, they can not be removed completely. During the solidification of molten steel, the reaction of oxygen and carbon in the solution will produce carbon monoxide, which can cause bubbles. Oxygen mainly exists in the form of FeO, MnO, SiO2, Al2O3 and other inclusions in the steel, which reduces the strength and plasticity of the steel. Especially, it has serious influence on fatigue strength and impact toughness.
"As Covid 19 spreads around the world, all unnecessary businesses and factories have been closed in Italy this week. South Korea's POSCO, the world's fifth-largest steelmaker, announced on March 24th that it would close its S460ML steel beam wire-processing centre near the northern Italian city of Verona from Thursday March 26th until April 3rd. POSCO has already closed two wire-processing centres in Delhi and Pune. Two wire processing centers in Malaysia and Thailand also announced last week that they will be closed until March 31."
