Q stands for the strength of steel. 460 means that plastic deformation occurs only when the strength of the steel reaches 460MPa. That is, when the external force is released, the steel can only maintain the shape of the force and cannot return to its original shape. This strength is greater than that of ordinary steel. Tensile strength is 550-720MPa, elongation: 17%, Q460 material is made by adding Cr, N, V, Ti and other alloying elements on the basis of 16Mn steel.

A36 is American Standard ASTM material, SS400 is Japanese Standard JIS g3101 steel material for general structure, Q235 is Chinese standard GB700 material. The limitation of the content of the Mn element differs depending on the thickness of the A36 steel plate, and the A36 steel plate of 20 mm or less does not contain Mn. The EN10025-4 steel S355ML, Q235 steel plate has requirements for the contents of C, Si, Mn, S, P and other elements. But SS400 steel plate only requires S and P to be less than 0.050, and no other element requirements.
