Carbon steel EN10025-4 S420M steel is an iron carbon alloy with carbon content less than 2.11% and a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus and other impurities. Carbon steel inevitably contains some impurity elements during smelting, which has a great influence on the performance and quality of steel, so it should be controlled. The quality of carbon steel is mainly measured by the content of sulfur and phosphorus. The lower the EN10025-4 S420M steel content of sulfur and phosphorus, the better the quality of carbon steel.

Normalizing is to heat the steel parts to 30~80℃above the critical temperature for a period of time. Then the parts are taken out of the furnace and cooled in air. Since the cooling rate of normalizing is faster than that of annealing, the strength and hardness of normalized EN10025-4 S420M steel are higher than that of annealed EN10025-4 S420M steel, but the elimination of internal stress is not as good as annealing. The normalizing operation of EN10025-4 S420M steel is simple, the cost is low, the productivity is high, and it is widely used in actual production.
