S355ML properties properties and applications

The carbon content of S355ML properties, hot rolled steel plate is slightly higher than that of cold rolled steel plate. Hot rolled steel plate has low hardness, easy processing and good ductility. Cold rolled steel plate has high hardness and is difficult to process, but it is not easy to deform and has high strength. The strength of hot-rolled steel plate is relatively low, the surface quality (oxidation finish) is low, but the plasticity is good, and it is generally medium thick plate.

Q960 quenched and tempered steel grade classification: Q960C, Q960D, Q960E, Q960F. The product S355ML properties thickness is not more than 150MM. Q960 quenched and tempered steel has high yield strength and tensile strength, and its resistance to brittle failure is also great. Q960 quenched and tempered steel has excellent low temperature toughness, so it can be used in large welded structural parts and low temperature environments.

Oxygen (O) is a harmful element in steel such as S355ML properties. Although manganese, silicon, iron and aluminum are added to deoxidize the steel at the end of steelmaking, they can not be removed completely. During the solidification of molten steel, the reaction of oxygen and carbon in the solution will produce carbon monoxide, which can cause bubbles. Oxygen mainly exists in the form of FeO, MnO, SiO2, Al2O3 and other inclusions in the steel, which reduces the strength and plasticity of the steel. Especially, it has serious influence on fatigue strength and impact toughness.
