EN 10025 S275M steel produce the thickness range

Grade A ship steel is mainly used for the internal frame of the ship and the outer plate bearing general stress. Grade B, Grade D and Grade E ship steel EN 10025 S275M steel can be used for important structures in high stress areas such as hull outer plate and main deck. The Grade E ship steel has good low temperature performance, which is suitable for the hull outer plate, deck, etc. According to the minimum yield strength, the high-strength ship steel is divided into four grades: A, D, E and F. The commonly used high strength ship steels are AH32, DH32, EH32, etc.

A36 is American Standard ASTM material, SS400 is Japanese Standard JIS g3101 steel material for general structure, Q235 is Chinese standard GB700 material. The limitation of the content of the Mn element differs depending on the thickness of the A36 steel plate, and the A36 steel plate of 20 mm or less does not contain Mn. The EN 10025 S275M steel, Q235 steel plate has requirements for the contents of C, Si, Mn, S, P and other elements. But SS400 steel plate only requires S and P to be less than 0.050, and no other element requirements.

No. 45 steel is commonly used medium carbon quenched and tempered structural steel. The cold plasticity of No. 45 steel is generally better than EN 10025 S275M steel. Annealing and normalizing are better than quenching and tempering. No. 45 steel has higher strength and better machinability than Q345 steel. After proper heat treatment, it can obtain certain toughness, plasticity and wear resistance. No. 45 steel EN 10025 S275M steel is suitable for hydrogen welding and argon arc welding, but not suitable for gas welding. Preheating is required before welding, and stress relief annealing shall be conducted after welding.
