Basic knowledge of EN 10025-6 equivalent grade

The properties of EN 10025-6 equivalent grade ASTM A36 steel allow it to deform steadily when the stress increase exceeds the yield strength. This ductility enables the building to stand still after meeting the structural limit in an emergency. Other EN 10025-6 equivalent grade high-performance steel, such as bridge strand, has very strong strength and brittleness, and its deformation is minimum before severe fracture of bridge strand.

The outer diameter of the hot-rolled seamless pipe is generally larger than 32mm, and the wall thickness is 2.5-75mm. The diameter of the cold-rolled seamless pipe can be 6mm, the wall thickness can be 0.25mm, the outer diameter of the thin-walled pipe can be 5mm, and the wall thickness is less than 0.25mm. The size accuracy of the cold-rolled seamless pipe is higher than that of the hot-rolled seamless pipe, EN 10025-6 equivalent grade.

Oxygen (O) is a harmful element in steel such as EN 10025-6 equivalent grade. Although manganese, silicon, iron and aluminum are added to deoxidize the steel at the end of steelmaking, they can not be removed completely. During the solidification of molten steel, the reaction of oxygen and carbon in the solution will produce carbon monoxide, which can cause bubbles. Oxygen mainly exists in the form of FeO, MnO, SiO2, Al2O3 and other inclusions in the steel, which reduces the strength and plasticity of the steel. Especially, it has serious influence on fatigue strength and impact toughness.
